The 2010 Innovation Award has been presented to Q Chip Ltd and Cardiff University’s School of Biosciences for their collaboration to develop 3D micro-lung models for toxicology tests.
Q Chip and the Cardiff School of Bioscience’s mutual interest in the use of polymer composites for biological assays led to the development of a ground-breaking method for growing human cells which demonstrate natural cellular behaviour.
