A partnership between BBC Cymru Wales and Cardiff University’s School of Journalism, Media & Cultural Studies for the Digital Storytelling project – Capture Wales.
Together, the team created an inspiring project with positive outreach to local communities. Those who may not have access to such technology use computers, picture resources and voice-over narration to tell their own short, personal stories, creating a community scrapbook. Through Capture Wales, community connections have been enhanced and exposure to new technologies gained thereby creating a more sustainable future and enhancing economic regeneration.
Gareth Morlais, Project Producer of Capture Wales said: “Already more than 900 people in Wales have made their own digital story since this project began and this award is a fantastic validation of the importance of people being able to get their own voice on the mass-media here in Wales.”
