The 2010 Prize has been presented to Corus Strip Products for developing the Centre of Excellence in Waste and Energy with Cardiff School of Engineering.
The Centre of Excellence is helping Corus to address a wide range of challenges, including waste and energy reduction, as well as exploiting novel technology to secure the long-term future of steelmaking in Wales.
The award also recognised the jointly developed, industrially-focussed combustion course, whereby staff at the plant receive in-depth training which has been embedded into everyday operations.
