TERMS & CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP

Membership Terms Cardiff University is licensed under the Data Protection Act 1988. The information supplied by you and held by us will be used by Cardiff University to bring to your attention events, news and information to assist you to make links and turn creative ideas into commercial success.

CUIN is a 'membership only' networking environment designed to support and enhance innovation, in which Business Professionals and Academics seek to make contact with each other. By definition, the Network also provides opportunities for you to interact with Cardiff University and other 'members' to share ideas and best practice. To this end, your details, from time to time, will be shared with other Cardiff University Innovation Network members.

Your privacy is important to CUIN. As such:

You MUST be 18 years old or over to join the CUIN website and/or attend CUIN events;
We will not select companies to send you information about other products or services;
By signing up for CUIN membership, attending events and entering information onto the CUIN website you are opting into CUIN announcements and newsletters and, on acceptance, become a member of CUIN;
CUIN may disclose your personal information to third parties with whom it seeks to develop or create partnerships.

Attendance lists of delegates who register for our evening events are made available to other registered delegates with the sole aim of facilitating networking at the meetings. Under no circumstances should these details be used by members for any other purpose or distributed in any form to non-members. In no event should these details be used to contact members in order to advertise, or offer to buy or sell any goods or services, or conduct or forward surveys, contests or chain letters.

Membership of CUIN may be terminated at any time and without any reason by CUIN or the Member upon notification of the other by electronic or conventional mail.

CUIN Website and Member Profiles This Web site contains bulletin boards, chat rooms and other public message or communication facilities. Your use of this Web site constitutes your agreement to these Terms and Conditions of Membership.

You agree to use these facilities to send and receive material that is related to the particular aims of the Innovation Network and to act courteously and properly in relation to other users;
This website may not be used to advertise, or offer to buy or sell any goods or services, or conduct or forward surveys, contests or chain letters;
In no event may you use this Forum to advertise or sell any goods or services, which you are in the business of advertising or selling;
CUIN is NOT an advertising database. Sending unsolicited emails (SPAM) advertising products and services to members either using the CUIN messaging tools or forums or directly to members e-mail addresses is prohibited;
The collection of CUIN members e-mail addresses from member profiles or from the database is specifically prohibited;
You are responsible for all content that you make available via the site. CUIN does not control the content posted via the Service and, as such, does not guarantee the accuracy, integrity or quality of such content. CUIN is not liable for any content, for any errors or omissions in any content, or for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of any content posted or transmitted;
Members must keep their username and password confidential and not impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your profile or affiliation with a person or entity;
You may review and update your personal information at any time;
The information which you enter onto the CUIN site and choose to be displayed, will be viewable by any other member or any visitor accessing the site;
CUIN has an increasingly international membership and overseas interest so your information may be viewed in countries which have a different level of protection for personal information than that in the UK;
We use cookies and other software to collect data about users to track their movements around the CUIN website and in order to assist users revisit this website;
CUIN reserves the right to remove without notice any content and to deny at its sole discretion any user access to the CUIN website and/or revoke membership without notice;
CUIN will not intervene in disputes between members and accepts no liability in any disputes arising due to website postings or communication by any member;
You warrant that you will not use this Web site for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms and Conditions;
You agree that CUIN shall not be liable for any direct or indirect use of the CUIN website or services;
CUIN may use photographs taken at events in publicity and on our website or Facebook site. If you would prefer not to be included in event photographs, please identify yourself to CUIN staff on attendance at each event.
