On the 8th September, the Centre for Defence Enterprise (CDE), in partnership with the Welsh Government and Cardiff University, is presenting a one day seminar on science and technology research in defence, explaining how to get involved and outlining funding opportunities.
The morning event (ca 10am-1pm) will be a general briefing on defence science and technology opportunities to meet the military challenges of today and the future.

The afternoon event (ca 2-4pm) will launch two CDE research calls, including a presentation and networking opportunities for:
- ISTAR Concepts & Solutions
- Dismounted Urban Sensing and Targeting (DUST)

CDE is the Ministry of Defence's gateway for science and technology ideas from industry, academia and innovators to ensure UK Armed Forces have access to the best equipment, science and technology.

The broad scope of this event will be of interest to a wide range of small and medium sized companies, academia and industry.

In addition, the CDE will be running a series of "One-to-One" Surgeries on the 7th September, to provide individual guidance to innovators on specific proposals.

Attendance at both events is free, but pre-registration is required. Early application is advised - particularly for the 7th September One-to-One Surgeries, as spaces are limited at these.

Update 170811: The One to One Surgeries on the 7th September are now fully booked
