Launched to co-incide with the start of
Global Entrepreneurship Week, the Big Ideas Wales initiative has been developed by The Welsh Assembly Government to promote entrepreneurship in schools, colleges and universities.
Deputy First Minister Ieuan Wyn Jones said that entrepreneurs are key to creating more private sector employment: “Entrepreneurs are the drivers of the economy...One in seven of the Welsh workforce is self-employed and this number is increasing. Those who take the step to create and build businesses ensure jobs and prosperity for the country.”
The Big Ideas Wales campaign is linked to the Youth Entrepreneurship Strategy – YES - which aims to equip young people aged 5-25 with entrepreneurial skills and attitudes to raise their aspirations, so they can fulfil their potential whatever they choose to do.
