Welsh Small and Medium-Sized Companies can save 50% on Leadership & Management Training Courses

The Cardiff Centre for Lifelong Learning at Cardiff University provides a range of professional development courses, including marketing, leadership and project management.

As of Monday the 2nd February, the Centre is offering up to 50% discount on selected courses, to help Welsh-based small and medium-sized businesses during the current economic downturn. The 50% discount applies to Leadership & Management training and a 25% discount applies to Project Management Training. Funding is available via the Open for Business programme, and applies to training run between 02 February and 31 July 2009.

Welsh Assembly Funding: ProAct
The Assembly Government is to invest £68m in helping employers to train workers and keep apprentices rather than making redundancies.

Skills minister John Griffiths unveiled the ProAct scheme which will help employers to deal with falling orders and provides an alternative to redundancy through short time working and retraining during the days not being worked. The programme will also include support to apprentices to complete their training where employers are struggling to see them through to the end of the course.

To support apprenticeships during the economic downturn a further £20m will be made available.

Go Wales
The GO Wales Graduate Training and Development Fund offers financial support for graduates working in Welsh-based SMEs. Up to £1500 available per person to put towards training costs.
