Cardiff University is proud to host a lecture from Sir Terry Matthews, one of the UK’s leading entrepreneurs and pioneers of technology. Find out about his journey from being born in Newport to becoming Wales’ first self-made billionaire through the high tech telecoms industry.
Since setting up the successful Mitel Networks in 1972 Sir Terry has gone on to start up over 80 companies. He is also well known as the owner and chairman of the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, which in 2010 will be hosting the prestigious Ryder Cup.
This event will be of particular value to students and young entrepreneurs as Sir Terry will be speaking about his many experiences of initiating start-up companies with young graduates from around the world, and outlining how best to go forward in today's economic climate.
