Leadership Development for People Working in R&D: Deadline 24th February

Friday 03 February 2012
Welsh Crucible is designed to provide Welsh researchers with the skills to capitalise on their research collaborations and is based on NESTA's highly successful leadership development programme for researchers.
The programme enables 30 highly promising scientists, social scientists and scholars to come together to explore and expand their innovative potential through a series of three intensive, two-day residential workshops called ‘labs’.

Designed for talented early-to mid-career researchers working in research and development in Wales in the business/industry/service sector or the St David's Day Universities, Welsh Crucible helps people working in R&D in business to work together with researchers in the Higher Education sector.

Welsh Crucible can help you:

- Develop a close network of like-minded peers within the research community
- Demonstrate the benefits of interdisciplinary science and collaboration
- Forge links with the National Assembly for Wales, Welsh Government and Welsh Media
- Improve your effectiveness both within and beyond your organisation
- Ensure that your research has greater impact
- Learn abut new areas of research to facilitate personal and career development
- Develop your confidence to communicate your research to the public

Welsh Crucible is funded by HEFCW and the partner institutions.

(*Aberystwyth, Bangor, Cardiff, Glamorgan and Swansea)
