The Postcode Lottery Green Challenge offers £440,000 (€500,000) and expert coaching as a top prize for a sustainable and eco-friendly idea or concept.
This international creative competition from the Dutch Postcode Lottery is championed in the UK by its sister lottery the People’s Postcode Lottery.
The competition encourages would-be entrepreneurs to submit creative and innovative ideas for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The jury is looking for products and services that could contribute to an eco-friendly lifestyle and directly reduce greenhouse gas emissions in addition to scoring well on convenience, quality and design.
Applicants’ ideas should:
• Have the potential to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions by an amount you can roughly estimate
• Be developed enough to execute
• Be realisable as a usable product or service within the next two years.
• Be categorized in one of these sectors: Lifestyle, ICT, Design, Energy or Mobility.
Entries for the Postcode Lottery Green Challenge 2011 should be submitted by July 29th.
Finalists will present to a jury on the 14th September in Amsterdam, with an Awards Ceremony being held the next day.
