On 12th October 2010 more than 1700 innovators from the business and research communities flocked to the Business Design Centre in Islington for Innovate '10, hosted by the TSB.
Innovate '10 included more than 30 in-depth seminars and information sessions and featured 100 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge technologies.
The day culminated in the TSB's 'Disruptive Solutions' competition to fund new projects from up-and-coming firms, which saw four companies walk away with £100,000 of funding to progress their ideas on digital, energy, healthcare and sustainability.
"Innovate" is an annual event designed to provide in-depth information on opportunities and trends, to enable collaborations and partnerships to develop, and to inspire - advancing the pace of innovation and therefore UK growth.
Universities and Science Minister David Willetts echoed the purpose of the day in an upbeat keynote address, saying "As we focus on reviving economic growth, the Technology Strategy Board will be the main delivery body for supporting business innovation."
