Workforce development through employer-higher education

New highlights the contribution that higher education can make to workforce development.
The CBI, Universities UK and HEFCE have published a report called “Stepping Higher: Workforce development through employer-higher education partnership” which highlights the contribution that higher education can make to workforce development.
The report features 13 case studies on collaboration between business and universities and identifies 12 key themes that appear in successful employer engagement activity.
Two of these key themes are:
· adapting teaching style to the learners and
· delivering programmes in ways that suit employers and participants.
